Chemo Chic
Foundation Degree - Fashion & clothing
Amount awarded: £1,500
They hope to use the project to engage and educate the wider student community in order to:
1) To provide sustainable and affordable head gear for local women experiencing hair loss
By providing stylish and affordable garments for chemotherapy patients, they hope to build into our local community and support them through what is a very vulnerable point in their lives.
2) To raise the profile of the benefits of using recycled clothing
The students hope to highlight that style doesn’t necessarily have to cost money, or be new. Being stylish can be sustainable and can ensure fairness for society and the environment.
3) To encourage FD Fashion students to work with and for other College learners and to enhance learner voice and the activities and power of the Student Union.
The students want to promote their work across college and raise the profile of the Students’ Union by putting on a fashion show in the Summer to display their talents and raise money for local cancer support organisations.
Keep your eyes peeled for updates from what the students in this project are getting up to via our BLOG!
